I have a problem with my 2004 Honda LX, the rpm doesn’t go above 3000. Can you tell me why this is happening ?
Answer : It’s most likely your Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) meaning your cars computer doesnt know how far your pushing the gas down or how fast you want to go, so the cars computer doesn’t know the proper air-fuel mix to put in the engine when you go above 3000 rpm and need more power.
Also it could be the idle air control valve (iacv) meaning your engine not getting enough air at idle. It’s causes the rpm to jump up and down between where it should idle and like 1 or 2 grand.
Best thing to do is check your fluids especially your radiator fluid. If its low it will idle wierd.
I have a 2005 Nissan Sentra, and i want to replace a fuel pressure regulator by myself. Can you tell me the step-by-step instructions ?
Answer : First of all, make sure the fuel tank is as empty as you can get it by siphoning the fuel out into a container.
Then, relieve fuel pressure by removing fuel pump relay from power distribution box and then crank the engine over for about 10-20 seconds. Fuel pump relay should be labeled.
After that, remove fuel tank straps, drop tank down enough to gain access to fuel lines and electrical connections. Disco everything hooked to the fuel tank and remove tank from car.
And the last one, remove fuel pump module from fuel tank, change fuel pressure regulator and reinstall.
Installation is reverse of removal
It’s so helpful If you have a floor jack and an assortment of common tools, because of this task is moderately difficult.
I have a 2010 Chevy Camaro V6 engine. I went to go fill it up and when I started to fill it up, the nozzle kept turning off, as if the tank was already filled. I’ve been to two gas stations with the automatic pumps and its happened at both of them. Can you tell me why i can’t fill the tank up?
Answer : You are adding gas faster than the air is coming out due to a close fit of the nozzle and the vehicles tank receiver entrance.
Try pumping the gasoline into the tank slower. The fuel filler nozzle is designed to shut off when fuel backs up inside the top of the pipe. Your car’s fuel tank is apparently backing up because fuel is being pumped in too fast. Just set the fuel flow to the first notch on the nozzle handle, and it should allow your tank to fill up properly
How do i fix flooding the engine without involving a mechanic? Can i avoid it ?
Answer : STOP cranking immediately when this happens, it will be worse at that point and will have to do more to get it started. If you stopped immediately, you might be able to get away with just pulling the two fuel relays located in the fuse panel in engine compartment both blue and right next to each other.
Then unplug the secondary air connector located in engine compartment passenger side.
You can avoid it by running the engine for a while after starting to ensure all excess fuel is burnt off, normally about 4 or 5 mins.
Is it ok to put 4k carburator to 3k engine?
Answer : no problem, go for it. A 4k will fit and run perfect on a 3k. Jet size is very similar. So, there’s no big fuel loss. All linkage will connect up.
Air filter fits straight on as well.
Can you tell me how to removing the transmission oil in a Mitsubishi FTO ??
Answer : Only about 30% of the oil can be drain by removing the pan assembly. You can’t just drain it all out as the majority stays in the torque converter and fluid lines. Transmission fluid is renewed by flushing which requires disconnection of the oil cooler hoses and extension hoses to be fitted.
Fresh oil is sucked from a full container and the old fluid is pumped from the box to an empty container using the connections above.
You need about 5 gallons to do the job properly.
